Once again the market has proven that all real estate is local.  Although the metro area experienced a drop in real estate prices and employment last year it was a small dip compared to most of the country.  Rental housing in the metro areas of Albuquerque and Rio Rancho remain in demand.  These are growing communities with good job outlooks. The cost of residential real estate in the Albuquerue and Rio Rancho metro areas remain a bargin.  In 2010 the average rental value of single family homes has increased from 2009: while the cost of owning a rental property is down over the same period.  As an added bonus, rental property can be insured against many risks which can effect income such as weather damage and loss of rents. 

 As an investor, you have the choice of a variety of investments, including real estate. Residential real estate offers advantages unavailable with most other investments, including:
